When Michael points from “east to west” he points in the wrong directions. Some scenes, such as the Anthracite Museum and Scranton sign, were obviously filmed on a green screen to give a “cheap home movie” effect. The “electric city sign” is later referenced in Sabre (SAY-Ber) as part of Andy and Erin’s welcome song for Gabe. The restaurant “Cugino’s” is a restaurant that is often referenced throughout the series. It is likely that Michael’s inspiration from this was three episodes earlier, in Initiation. While Michael is waiting in line for pretzels, Kelly tells Michael about a music video in which “they’re acting all tough but they’re really just rapping about cupcakes and the Chronicles of Narnia”. This music video is, in fact, SNL’s Lazy Sunday.
